Rimes's Baptism

On memorial weekend we all flew over to portland to be a part of a very special baptism.  Little Rimes was surrounded with friends and family for the weekend and his baptism was perfect.  He is previous and his big cousins think so too!

Clara and I took some extra time to go to longview for a visit with Nona and Papa.

Alice was very helpful to Auntie Lis in giving Rimes a bath.  

Tball, triathlon and dance

Owen played his first season of tball for the green goblins with a very patient and wonderful dad as coach.  

Brett did a local triathlon and probably had the best and cutest support group.

Clara finished up her dance class and is interested in more!

May Day

I skipped from Clara's birthday to May Day (exactly 2 months), but...I'll fill in more later.  Sometimes, I have realized, I need to enjoy moments rather than worry about how to document them.  I do love to share my family, and will, but also want to truly enjoy and that means putting the blog further down the list.

So, May Day...

Happy 4th birthday Clara

I realize this is more than a month behind, but we did celebrate our four year old in march...the day after baby Rimes was born!

After some 4 pancakes, Owen was so happy to show Clara her new birthday bike!

We took the birthday girl to dinner and Brett took her to a griz basketball game too.  She wanted to ride the carousel for her birthday, but it was closed due to the freezing and windy weather.  Good thing this 4-year old is a good sport!

Clara's idea for her party was a school party where she is the teacher and the guests are the students!  She ran the show (just like Miss Stephanie her preschool teacher) and the "students" were great listeners.  It made for an easy party for me too!

Baby Rimes

This is the day we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our nephew and new cousin.  School was cancelled and Lisa had been induced the afternoon before...

Owen and I were heading back from sledding when we got word that Rimes Patrick Chambers had entered the world.    Brett and I are thrilled to be an aunt and uncle, and the big cousins can't wait to meet him!  

We feel very thankful that he and mama are healthy and look forward to sharing in this sweet boy.

Valentine's Day and Lice

Yes, it's true...we found lice on Valentine's Day.

The day started off with heart pancakes and new books.  Brett was out of town for the weekend and I had taken the day off to help with parties at kindergarten and preschool, and we gave Clara a great heart hairstyle.  I had a babysitter for the evening for Alice so that I could take O and C to the valentine carnival at St. Joes.  It was after Clara's party, when I was adjusting her hair that I found bugs:(.

We treated and buzzed Owen just in case, and sent him to the carnival with our friends.  The girls and I cancelled the sitter and spent the evening treating, combing, bagging and laundering the house.  Clara, has a lot of hair, but is a very good sport.  She was okay with watching a movie and missing the carnival.  Owen was sweet enough to buy her a prize with his tickets and bring her a treat.
 Brett was home on Sunday so was able to join in the combing, treating and cleaning.  That all lasted about 2 weeks...just to be sure we are all clear.
Owen had a blast at the carnival, and I am thankful to have good people around that helped us out.  Our friends from St. Joes picked up O for the carnival and offered their expertise in dealing with the bugs.  Our neighbors and great friends the Hubbards dropped off pizza (because my only trips out were to get treatment supplies), and Dr. Auntie Steph gave me some on-call advice about treatment too!
I HOPE THAT WHOEVER IS READING THIS NEVER HAS TO DEAL WITH IT...but I'll give you my two cents if you ever do.

2014 winter

Have I really not posted for this long?  Well, things are good...2014 started with warm temps and just recently dumped snow.  Other than a few ear infections and coughs, the kids are great.  Clara starts dance this week, Owen just finished a tennis camp, and Alice mastering stairs to keep up with them.  

Nutcracker and Reindeer

I was so excited to take o and c to see the Nutcracker for the first time! We were joined by another two kiddos and their mom, and the four kids were great. Owen was most interested in the sword battle and the rat king and Clara the dresses and the main character (Clara), but both enjoyed the performance.










AND...we popped in to a local feed store over the weekend to see the reindeer that were visiting!
