Monty Bear

Wednesday we went to the hospital to see Monty and have lunch with Carole.  Owen talked about Monty Bear all morning and even brought his Monty book to get it signed.  This is a pic of Monty signing the book two tables away because that is as close as Owen would let him get...he was really scared of him and had his arms and legs wrapped around me very tight whenever Monty was in about 20 feet.  Sorry Monty, but thanks for signing the book!

What we've been up to...

Brett was gone for the weekend and after all the homecoming fun, we were still able to get up and ready in time for 9 o'clock mass (and with time to spare for lego towers)!

How sweet are these legs?

Clara is stating to think this thing is fun!

We were so lucky to have Ash stop by for a visit while she was here for the weekend.   She flew back to Denver the next day, but it was great to visit.  Thank you for stopping Ashley!

Brandy had us for dinner on Monday night and we checked out Greenough Park right across the street.

My walking partners.  If only the nap would have continued when we got home :)

Owen is a sticker maniac...

and Clara doesn't mind at all!

Happy Birthday Papa Bill!

Happy happy birthday to a very special person...our Papa and Great Papa Bill!  We wish we could be there to celebrate you.  We send you our love and hugs!  Happy birthday!

PS.  Dinner in the exersaucer is not the norm, but we were watching the Griz game on TV...

BIG Spider

UM Homecoming

Friday night Pep Rally
bonfire, cheerleaders, band, Mya...Owen was taking it all in

Clara wasn't really sure what to think, but she was sure she was not going to sleep!

Watching the parade with Auntie Char

Ryan marching in the Red Wave
(Brett was also in the Red Wave back in the day-same shirts too!)

Owen quietly watched the parade and collected candy, flags and pencils.
(He may have been so quiet because he was cold.  Their mom forgot to throw their sweatshirts in the stroller...but don't worry, they had sunscreen, hats and sunglasses on!)

After the parade we headed over the bridge to tailgate for the game

We didn't go to the game, but had a fun-filled and tiring day-this is on the way home.

Clara got up from her nap and practiced crawling while we watched the end of the Griz game.  They won!

On the move...almost

Clara took her first "crawling steps" on Thursday...she will be on the move very soon!

If i would just take my friend Kelly's advice and buy MUM MUMs...I don't know why I bother with these teether biscuits, they are a MESS!  A bath is mandatory after each one.
She really likes them though!  But, sorry Clara, I think this will be your last box :) Love ya!

99 cents

I was willing to pay to keep Owen busy while waiting in line (10 people deep) at Michael's.  What an awesome deal to find a whole sheet of Diego stickers for only .99!  All 25 stickers were on him when we left the store, but we made it out with no running away or whining, and with the frames that I wanted, and that was worth it to me!  Thanks Diego.

Frenchtown Pond

Thursday after school we met the Ederer girls for fishing and playtime at Frenchtown Pond.  Taking 2-year-olds fishing is hilarious!  The Mamas put the worms on and casted the poles.  Owen walked around with his pole tangling himself in the line several times and dipping the pole tip in the water.  Syd LOVES worms so much that she was more interested in emptying the bait cup and holding them.
 Aren't they cute though?

 Happily watching on the blanket
waiting at the park with his PB&J
Syd kept offering worms to Owen who was not at all interested in touching them

Tub Time

giving swim lessons to his tub monsters
Owen is SO much better at washing his hair...
it used to be a scream session but now he willingly tips his head back and there are no tears!
trying out the big tub by herself...
when they are sharing the tub, she is better off in the blue boat for now :)
All clean!

Shots and Stats

Clara had her 6mo well child today (even though she's almost 7 mo) and here is how she measures up...
Weight:  15 lbs 6 oz 24%
Height:  25 3/4 in. 34%
Head: 42.8 cm. 48%

In addition to her other shots, she and Owen also got their flu shots/cool bandaids.  Owen wanted his bandaid first, then Clara got her 3.  After some tears and shrieks Owen gave Clara a hug and we were off to say goodbye to the fish and head home for lunch.  Good job at the doctor kiddos!

Chicken Noodle Soup

The weather is hinting at fall, and one of my favorite things about fall is FALL SOUPS!  It really ended up being a beautiful sunny day where we also worked in the yard and played outside...but we also made soup.  Owen was a great helper and really liked the finished product too!

Baby Elhardt

My great friends Teresa & Matt had their little boy!  Griffin John Elhardt was born on Sunday and is doing great...so are Mom, Dad and big sister Addy.  We are so excited for you and look forward to meeting Griffin!

swinging

first time on the swing at the park
We lost the two golf balls that Owen got with his clubs (Gracie got them for him for his bday) and it turns out...plastic golf balls only come in 24 packs!  Driving range?

He has been really into golf the past few weeks.  As soon as Brett gets home, "Daddy wanna play golf with me?"
I get to play with him sometimes too and Clara seems entertained sitting up watching.

Clara's 6 monthers

Here are some pics from Clara's little 6 month photo session and the album if you want to see more.

Owen came home from daycare yesterday and when I asked who he played with he said "Camden has cool hair.  It's kinda like this (and he tickled the top of his head)."  So we picked up some $3 hair gel (that is SUPER strong by the way...more like glue) and we had a cool dude headed out the door for daycare today!
