Opening Day*

Brett went hunting on Saturday and brought home dinner!  Well, it is actually at his parent's, but will be great when its in the freezer ready for us to use.  This is a cow elk just for those of you that may not know...as Owen says, "The elk doesn't have antlers, just big ears."  I have been giving the Felton boys a hard time for unlucky seasons the past few years and often times ask why they have to spend so many weekends hunting.  Why not just get something on opening day?  Then the season isn't so long and time consuming.  They are starting to figure it out:)  Yay Brett!

Potty Train

Owen is by no means potty trained, but he is gradually getting motivated...thank you Auntie Joann for the Thomas sticker book!  Over time he has filled up this potty train and I told him he could choose a surprise when it was finished.  He wanted to get a car so off we went to Target where Owen picked out a Ford F150.

4-day weekend

Thursday and Friday were MT education association days...which means, if you've already put in your extra teacher work days, you get a long weekend!  Thursday I took that opportunity to get a hair cut and shop around and little bit.  After my hair cut I set out to find shoes and possibly some home decor and after popping in to Echo, a local consignment shop, I came home with a new coffee and end table.  Sometimes you find things that you didn't know you really needed, right?  With finishing the basement, the old one will go down the stairs and the new one will replace it upstairs.  It was just a deal I could not pass up!

Pull ups

Oh no, not me!  Little Miss, however, is finding many things, including the new coffee table, to pull herself up to standing.  She was so proud of herself after pulling up on this little rocker!

Super Swimmer

Owen is comfortable swimming all by himself with this noodle...this is the 8 ft section and he jumped to Brett and swam the length of pool on his own!

Soccer Saturday

 The kids and I took a basement break and went to Brynn & Ryan's soccer games Saturday morning.

Finishing the Basement

Last spring we had egress windows put in, and have been waiting for a good time to finish the basement so that we can use the space for something other than storage.  When it's done we'll have another bedroom and a tv/exercise/play area!  Friday we kicked off the project...Brett and our awesome team had it framed in less than 4 hours!  The fact that they work for beer and food makes them even more awesome:)

Corn Maze

I haven't posted for way too long so be prepared to be inundated with happenings from Missoula...


Last week Sarah and I took the kids to MissoulaMaze pumpkin patch, petting zoo and hay/corn maze.  We were all tired after getting lost (I mean, like, 45-minutes-longer-than-we-wanted-to-be-in-the-maze-lost) when Sarah and I decided to do the big hay/corn maze instead of the toddler one.  The neat thing about the toddler maze is that it's only a foot and a half high so you can see a little one if they take off running:)  After crawling through tunnels with front packs on, running into several dead ends, and bolting after little ones, we asked the corn man to direct us to the finish.  It was still fun seeing the animals, trying out the maze and running around in this great fall weather.

Owen wasn't really interested in touching the animals, but loved this little goat named Peewee...
(until the fireman hat hit the ground and all three goats came running over to eat it-that scared him a bit)

Swimming Lessons

Owen started Parent-Toddler swim lessons yesterday!  He was so excited, and wanted to go back to swim lessons as soon as we got out of the pool.  With noodles wrapped around him he said "Daddy, I wanna do it myself".  Clara and I got in for a swim too and she was as happy as can be splashing and kicking while Owen was in class with Brett.

Happy Birthday Mya!

Along with having Gramma and Papa here, we also got to go to Mya's 3rd birthday party on Sunday.  She had a "pumpkin party" with a leaf pile in the shape of a pumpkin, pumpkins hidden in the leaves, a Halloween lunch and pumpkin cupcakes.  It was a beautiful fall day so the kids ate outside and spent most of the party running and jumping in the leaves.  What a fun afternoon!

Gma Sue & Papa Pat visit

Papa & Grandma got in late Thursday night-what a fun surprise for the kids to wake up to them Friday morning!  We really embraced fall for the weekend while we visited and enjoyed catching up.

Oktoberfest 2010-1st annual

Some of the old gang from Gonzaga gathered last weekend for a little reunion in Leavenworth, WA.  It also happened to be Oktoberfest!  The weather/scenery/company could not have been better.  We all arrived Friday night in time to BBQ and hit the hottub.  Saturday Maria and Eric came over for the day, and we hiked and headed to the festivities downtown.  On the way out of town Sunday we stopped at a super fun farm...pumpkins, apples, animals and really fun games.  We loved catching up with the gang and decided to make it an annual event!
