Since I was pregnant and without a date for prom last year, it was so fun to have Brett chaperone with me this year! This was my second year as a prom advisor and prom is WAY more involved than I ever remember it being when I was in high school. There are now committees, paid advisors, multiple fund raisers and all the proceeds benefit a chosen organization. Grand march is also very new to me, and we had over 600 people come just to watch the march! Aside from calming down some parents that were very nervous about the grand march route and safety pinning dresses together, my job was very easy once things got rolling. I am still catching up on sleep though...after taking down decorations, I think I got home later than I did from prom 1998!

Prom 2009

Happy 29th to me!
My birthday was on Friday and Ron and Carole made a delicious dinner to celebrate the big 29! Stacy, Don, Brian and the Sayler's also joined us for dinner and some very good cake and ice cream. At school my students sang to me (one even sang a solo) and the staff brought cake. When I got home, Owen delivered me a birthday card that he and Brett had made (via crawling with the card on his back), Brett made me lunch, and I had some wonderful birthday phone calls! Thanks everyone for such a special day!
