Winter Picnic and Clara's 1st Pony

Owen had a "winter picnic" while I put up Christmas lights on our front porch-
he thought it was awesome, but was ready to go in when the lights were up.

When Clara woke up we gave her her 1st ponytail!  If she is any sort of Sari girl, she'll be sporting a pony often.   When I was a young one, the only instructions I gave the hairdresser were "as long as it still fits in a ponytail".

Great photo Owen!

More of our 6-day weekend

With school being cancelled on Tuesday...we had a 6-day weekend.  Thanksgiving...snow...visitors...and decorating for Christmas!
Kevin came over for dinner and brought early Christmas gifts for the kids...
Here they are reading Owen's new pop-up dinosaur book.

Clara got a Dora book (that Owen happens to like too)!

Saturday we went to pick out a Christmas tree and decorated it last night with the kids.
I think Clara  loves Christmas-what do you think?

Thanksgiving Weekend...so far

Owen made these "chickens" with Grandma Carole
They made a great centerpiece for the table!

Seating for 15...one in a high chair

Brett with his perfect 22 lb turkey-it was delicious:)

They whole Thanksgiving day family

Friday, after I shopped with the girls, we went over to the Hubbards for some sledding.  Mya and Owen LOVED it!

We are Thankful

for loving and supportive families, thoughtful and supportive friends, healthy & happy kiddos, just to mention the top 3.  We feel so blessed and give extra thanks today for all that we have.

Here are my sweet little turkeys...

thank you Auntie Ria for the fun hat!

First Snow

There is something so exciting about the sight of a snow covered ground in the morning.  Owen and I ran to the window to check it out, and then played inside.  It's been a little too cold for sledding and playing outside yet, but we are looking forward to it soon!

D Line?

Owen and I were watching the Bobcat/Grizzlies rivalry game yesterday, doing laundry and having snacks.  The next thing I know, he is lined up with the players on the TV ready for a play.  I think maybe Brett has something to do with this...

Rainy Fall Day

Although I do love to be outside...I am a big fan of "rainy day recess".  It was one of those weeks in Missoula, so we took the opportunity to do some fun indoor activities.  This particular afternoon was filled with finger painting and making applesauce.

I'm working on it Auntie Lis!

With Lisa and Dom's wedding a month away-Lisa is still hoping that Flower Girl Clara will be able to walk down the aisle...she's working on her leg strength, but don't count on it Lis!

She pulled herself up and stood here for 10-15 minutes...with a smile!

Tub Evacuation!

She looks too sweet to be responsible for a tub evacuation doesn't she?  This is the 5th time in two weeks that Clara has  #2ed in the tub.  We quickly evacuate and get a rewash in the sink!

Go Griz!

Brett had planned on taking Owen to the Griz game for the first time this season and the Feltons had extra tickets so we made it a family event.  Owen was very interested in the "Boom" (the cannon goes off after each touchdown) and the red and blue motorcycles Monty & Mo rode onto the field.  With the game starting at 12 and the clouds rolling in, the kiddos were both ready to leave by half time.  I took them home for record setting naps (seriously, O slept 6 hours) while Brett stayed for the win.

Fall Soup Fest

Last Friday we hosted what may have been the 5th annual Fall Soup Fest.  On the menu: Wild Mushroom Soup, Italian Sausage & Pasta Soup, French Onion Soup and Chili.  We had a great turn out and I had so much fun visiting that I think I only took 2 pictures!

Sibs

I just walked into the room to Owen giving Clara a train and saying "Is this which one you were talking about Cara?  Here ya go!"  I love that they can apparently communicate with each other and right now they adore each other.

Farm to Family

Farm to Family is quite possibly a dream come true.  You grocery shop online, put a cooler and a check on your front porch, and they deliver your local and/or organic groceries...10 steps away from your refrigerator!
It takes a little planning, but is SO worth it.  I highly recommend it for Missoula folk!

'Tis the season

Cold season is here.  I feel like the noses at our house are constantly snotty.  After being up at night with Owen, we noticed his draining ear and were at the doc getting meds for a double ear infection.  He was a  sad little boy, not even interested in the fish or the train table in the waiting room.  He cried all the way to the doctor..."I don't want to lay on that paper!".  Creamcicle medicine+cough syrup=great night of sleep and a cheery Owen in the morning:)

Swim Night!

Brady and Clara were signed up for swim lessons starting Monday, but we arrived to find out that the session was canceled-darn it!  Free swim with the Hubbard fam was awesome though and Clara slept 11.5 hours that night!
