1st time on skis

Owen, what was your favorite part about skiing?

"I like the rope the best and then the hill and the mountain and the trees and the sunny day."

This morning we took Owen up to Snow Bowl for his first day of skiing.  He loved it!  His favorite part was the rope tow...Brett said each time they got to the top he said "I want to do that again Dad!"  The idea is that he learns to say that at the bottom of a run-right?  We were thinking that we would let him try things out in the morning, head in for pizza, and head home after lunch.  Owen didn't want to finish his pizza because he wanted to go back up the rope with Dad.  We finally skied to the car at 2 and both kiddos were fast asleep within seconds.  What a fun day and thankfully a good first experience-we'll definitely be doing it again!

A Spring Second

The sun peaked out for just a little dose of spring and out we went.  Heading out without coats may have been a bit ambitious, but it was a short amount of time.

Owen is a potty training champ.  He has been in undies for a week and is heading to the bathroom independently-I love it.  I'm so proud of him!  He asked for a diaper the other day but we are conveniently out, so he settled for undies and stayed dry.  Yahoo! 

Little Miss LOVES the dishwasher.  She makes a fast crawl for it as soon as the door is open.   She usually just stands  at the door and grabs things out or flips the little soap door.  Today she crawled right on in!

Paul and Steph got engaged last weekend at Timberline Lodge!    We are very excited for you both and look forward to celebrating you.  Today is also Steph's birthday...Happy Birthday to you!

Weekend Recap

Brett was in Denver last weekend for a guy's ski weekend.  While they were enjoying a whole lot of new snow outside, we opted to stay inside most of the weekend.  

Brynn came over to play on Saturday.
We made soft pretzels and valentine cards before the little ones went down for naps.

For the evening, we headed up to the Hubbard's for dinner with the girls (well, plus Owen & Brady).
Mya & Owen decided that Clara needed a check-up.  A shot in her ear?

Feeling a little more independent with undies, Owen is also changing his clothes often.  He usually chooses shorts, and this is what he came out in last night...also what he slept in last night.

Brett is in Denver this weekend for a guy ski trip with Jeff, Kevin and Justin.  They were giddy (to say the least) all week checking the snow report!  We hope you're having a blast boys:)

DRY DAY!!!

It's like early Lent for the Felton's.  Clara gave up nursing this week, and Owen seems to have given up diapers!!!

Patti is awesome and encouraged us to send Owen to daycare in undies.  He and one of his little buddies are both on the PT program and it's going very well.  He has gone several times on his own initiative, made it through a 2 1/2 hour nap dry, and jumped right up and headed for the bathroom.  I'm probably celebrating too early, and believe me, I know it's too good to be true, but also so awesome!  He filled up the rest of his "potty train" with stickers so we're off tomorrow to get a surprise...Wish us another dry day!

Ravioli

What to do with this GIANT squash?  Oh, make squash ravioli.  

I remember a special day about six years ago when my mom and I spent the day (a long day) making ravioli with Great Auntie Renata (Papa Bill's sister).  It wasn't the ravs that took so long, but the little stories that came with each step.  Papa Bill and Renata grew up at Sari's Restaurant and remember amazing stories about helping in the kitchen, their mother's cooking, and even the people that she served.  I feel so lucky to have had that cooking experience.  

Our ravioli day was much shorter, but it was still followed by a delicious meal and memories...of course.  

As I was cleaning up the ravioli mess..Owen created another one and Clara honed in on the goods.  I busted her (a little late) with this window crayon.  Non-toxic right Crayola?

She thinks she is pretty clever for crawling in the cupboard!
Once she was in she really didn't know what to do, but still thought it was neat!

Lego Night

TGIF.  Brett sent me off this afternoon to use up a few spa gift cards that have been sitting on my dresser.  A body scrub and then a 1 hour massage had me feeling rejuvenated...both were SO nice.  The kids have not been sleeping well for the last for days.  They have cute, snotty, chapped faces and Owen has an ear infection that is not draining, so he's been miserable.  

A night in and early to bed was just what the doctor ordered.  After some serious Lego towers (rockets, slides and airplanes too), we are all hoping for a great night of sleep.  See you in the morning kiddos!

Can you find them all?  We have deer in our yard daily, but not this many!  Clara, Owen and I watched them tromp through our yard kicking each other, playing and looking for food.  We were all at the window for about 20 minutes...who needs a TV?

All fun and games...until 12am

Marisa and Norm were niece-and-nephew-sitting up the road so invited the whole crew up for dinner (delicious homemade mac-n-cheese by the way).  The "older kids" had a great time jumping off the basement stairs and doing a little bit of reading.

Thank you Marisa and Norm for a fun night.  It turned un-fun at midnight when Owen started throwing up all night...poor guy was miserable.  Needless to say, we stayed in most of the next day and got quite a bit accomplished around here.  And did a heck of a lot of laundry.
