Baby Kettrick

Trevor and Kelly welcomed Charlie Mae into their family on Monday! She is a precious addition to their beautiful family...Georgia, Murphy, Millie and now Charlie-I love it! I don't know how you do it Kelly-she is a super Mom...for sure. Congratulations you two and enjoy that little bundle.

Last Day of Summer

Well, not really, but I start back to school days today and the first day with students is on Monday. So, yesterday was the last day of sunshine, with nothing scheduled. The kids and I took a picnic to Brett and brought treats to the team at the office. By the way, mini blizzards are a great addition the the DQ menu!

Potty Training

Well, I'm not really pushing the issue because some days he is into it, and some not. However, using the toilet just got a bit more interesting to him. I won't get too detailed...craisins and corn...
Owen just said, "I go potty I can see my food!"
Whatever works right?!

A weekend in Missoula

Friday night we took the kids to the Osprey game-Owen loves watching baseball and thinks cousin Lane plays in all baseball games. One the way to the game he was saying, "I watch Lane HIT the ball!" The Osprey lost, but it was a nice evening and we all had a good time. Clara even has a little pink Osprey hat that Mya gave her!

Saturday Clara and I hit up the market with Heather while Brett and Owen hiked the M and went to the Griz scrimmage with Kevin. And, congratulations to Tara & Shane who were married yesterday afternoon! It was a beautiful ceremony followed by a great party-cheers to the Wilsons and thank you for inviting us to share your day with you!

Sweet Girl

My Goal: Get Clara to sleep through the night before school starts.
Clara's Goal: Eat once or twice a night forever...and sound REALLY sad if I don't get my way.
Sleep training started two nights ago and man is it hard to hear her cry. The first night Brett and I both went in separate times to comfort her, but we also let her be sad for awhile. Owen woke up and Clara was exhausted the next day, but roughly managed the night without eating until 6am. Last night was better. I snuggled her when she woke up, and it took some time but she finally went to sleep again and is still sleeping! I think this is going to work-yay Clara!

August 19, 2005

Whoa-it doesn't seem like that long ago. Brett and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary today and are very thankful for what our years together have been filled with. We'll be opening a celebratory bottle of wine tonight...one of our awesome wedding gifts from my brother's friends was 2 stemless glasses and three bottles of wine tagged for our 1st, our 5th and our 10th anniversaries. Thanks and cheers to 5 wonderful years! We took the kids to dinner at Rattlesnake Gardens and then to the park with a pint of ice cream. What a perfect evening!
we brought our wine to dinner...picnic table, on the grass, under a big tree :)

Happy Anniversary!

Funny Boy

Oh how I wish I had a pic for this one...
The kids and I were at Old Navy, Clara sleeping in her seat and Owen walking with me (we're practicing this skill). I was looking at something and turned to have an eye on Owen and he was standing as still as could be, holding hands with a mannequin with no head. So adorable!
riding in his "boat"
Ever since we watched the kayakers in the river and few months ago, Owen has been really into paddles and talking about boats. He remembers the color of the boats and the color of helmet each kayaker was wearing and says "you member that boy with a blue helmet and a yellow boat Mommy? Member?" I don't really, but I pretend that I do.
"You like my sunglasses?"

Trying New Things

First taste of rice cereal...Clara was not excited about it, Owen drank some formula and took cereal bites!

First time in the jumper...not quite ready for jumping, but likes the lights and sounds. Owen would REALLY like to go in it too, but I think he exceeds the weight limit! (okay never mind, the video won't upload for this one ):)

This isn't really new, but here is Owen's excitement while watching the big kids dive at Nona and Papa's.

Back in MT

Our week in Sunriver was awesome, but it is nice to be home. Saturday we made it back to Longview to celebrate Nona's 80th birthday at the pool and we flew into to Spokane early Sunday (I mean, in Spokane by 8am!) just in time to catch Ryan and Brynn's soccer games before heading back to Montana. Here are some pics from Sunriver and the big birthday party...

Papa & Owen hit up the bakery before leaving Sunriver-Owen LOVED his chocolate sprinkle donut. He actually woke up this morning and said "I go for a bike ride. I wanna donut."
We rode bikes with Grandma and Papa to Fort Rock Park...but this pic is after Owen fell and got a shiner.
It was so fun to swim with our Sari cousins at Nona and Papa's!
This is right before we did 80 dives off the board for Nona!
Snuggling with the birthday girl (I know, Nona doesn't look 80 so it's hard to believe it)

Our week so far...

Just before flying out of Spokane, we were able to catch cousin Lane's baseball game with Uncle Steve (at GUs field) and say hi to the bulldog.
"GO GO LANE!"
From Sunriver, we took a day to explore Crater Lake by boat-what a beautiful place!

The family that could make it...cousin Dave was a fun surprise. He was in Bend and able to join us for a few days before heading back home to California.

Fishing with Papa at East Lake

Bike ride around Sunriver-Clara in the front pack and Owen riding with Gma Sue! We visited the horses at the stables and watched the boats at the marina while eating lunch.

Sunriver, OR

Sunday we flew into Portland where my parents picked us up on the way to Sunriver, OR. We met up with Maria and Eric on the road and are ready for a day of exploring today! Stay tuned for pics and updates...

Splash Montana

On Friday Brett and I took the kids to Missoula's water park Splash Montana. They have a great kids pool, and a lazy river that Brett and Owen loved.

Summer update...

We started off the week with Owen asking to use the toilet! We're not getting our hopes up, or pushing it, but he did get to pick out some Thomas and Diego undies at the store! He wore them while we were home on Monday and went a few times on the toilet-I don't think he's totally ready yet, but it's fun to practice a bit.
new undies and big muscles
Clara is fascinated with her feet...in this pic she is biting them and crying! Funny girl!

cute sib pic...yes Owen is wearing undies and socks

Clara & Brady at KidFest
Jenna and I decided to take the 4 kiddos and were so thankful to have Brynn come with us to help out!
Watching the kayakers (except there were none) and having ice cream before heading home for a long nap

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

And here is my little singer...he took the spoon out of the dishwasher and started rowing with it!

5 Months

Clara was 5 months old on Sunday! She is a happy, smiley little one and is getting stronger every day. She pushed herself up and dove out of her bouncy chair yesterday, tipping it over (no injuries, and no tears)! We've been trying out the high chair and are getting the johnny jump up out today-I think she'll love it!

Felton Family Reunion

Every 2 years the Felton fam meets back by the Clark Fork River where they all grew up. We have a long weekend of visiting, camping in the field, floating the river and sitting by the campfire. The weekend ended with all of us planning to see each other more often than every other year-let's make it happen!
Sidney & Owen (born a few weeks apart)
all Brett's first cousins' kids were here (does that make sense?) so I gathered them all to put their handprints on stepping stones to leave at the field
