Brett made dinner last Tuesday for his mom's birthday and it was delicious! Ron, Carole and Ty came over to celebrate with pasta, salad, bread, and ice cream and brownies for dessert.

March Madness

Who knew that a 21 month old would be so into March Madness?

We often go to the basketball courts in our neighborhood and Owen loves to go shoot and "run run" with Dad. Maria and Eric came into town Thursday night and we've been watching the NCAA tournament on dueling computers. Owen helped cheer the Zags on to victory on Friday and has since been very interested in watching the tournament. He wakes up from his nap and says "basetball" and has spent a lot of time with Eric, Maria & Brett watching games. The great thing is that he doesn't really mind who is playing, he just yells "go go Ryan!". (Brett's 12 year old cousin Ryan is probably the only one Owen has seen play a basketball game, so Griz game or NCAA tourney...it's go go Ryan!)

Red Shoe Ball

Brett and I left the kiddos with Gramma & Papa and went out on Friday. We got a table at the Red Shoe Ball with 3 other couples...a dinner and auction to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The slogan for the ball is "No black tie...just red shoes", you know, like Ronald McDonald. We had a great time and even won a great raffle prize.

Papa Pat got into Missoula Friday to meet Clara and visit us...He loves her!

Holy Waller

On ash Wednesday we were at the evening mass, and Owen was holding it together with the help of a train and some books. Given that it was bedtime and someone had just put dust on his head, he was doing a very nice job. The announcements started and Owen started whining and yelling "waller! waller!" and pointing to the back of the church. After realizing that he was not going to stop asking, Brett took him back to the drinking fountain for a drink. The final song began, they came back, and Owen continued to yell for "waller". Finally, when the song was over and we walked to the back of the church for our dose of holy water, we realized that Owen just wanted a dip like everyone else. He went with me to the baptism font, and without any coaching, dipped his hand in and patted himself on the head. This is now an important part of Owen's sundays!

And...we were giving Clara a bath a few nights ago and he was dipping his hand in her little tub and making his version of the sign of the cross. His Godparents must have taught him well!
