First Day of School 2013

Owen was at the front door at 6:45 with his backpack and shoes on! His excitement made it an easier morning for me, and he LOVES it!

His only disappointment was that the first day was a half day-he wanted to clarify the next day that I should not pick him up until the very end of the day. It warms my heart to hear him talk about playing knight and princess at recess, how you can earn stickers by being kind, and the new friends he has made. I love that he loves school!

My Clara girl on the other hand had a tougher day. I totally overlooked how her life was going to be different, until there were tears for the first time ever when I brought just the girls to daycare. Clara has gone with owen since she was a babe, and all we've been talking about is Owen is going to kindergarten. She got to take a lunch, like o, the next day, and got to go to gymnastics with Brett today while o was at school, so I think she has recovered well.

We are all pretty tired this weekend!!

School Starts Tomorrow 2013

I mean, real live school. It's not just me getting geared up to start a new year. Owen is starting kindergarten at St. Joe's tomorrow! He is more than excited...his backpack has been packed with his supplies for a week and he told me today "mom, tomorrow is a big day!". I know it is, and I'm so excited for him. The girls and I are going to miss him for the afternoon though!
We've had lots of soon-to-be-posted fun to top off our summer and are ready for routine, although it will take some getting used to!

Letter from Mrs. Newman

Owen got a letter in the mail from his kindergarten teacher Mrs. Newman. He felt so special! She included a postcard for him to write back to her about his summer. (such a clever teacher way to get a writing sample:)
Here is what he wanted to tell her about his summer...

He was also thinking school started as soon as August did and it has seemed like forever to him to wait until the end of August. Now it's just a week away!

Alice 10 months

It's official...it's impossible to get a good pic with her holding her sign. She is moving! Crawling (with a little foot blaster mixed in), standing, clapping, signing more, eat and finished and waving...and I swear she says hi!
