Thankful Tree

I forgot to post our November project, a thankful tree. Everyday of the month we each added something we were thankful for. It was a good way to focus on thanksgiving instead of starting Christmas lists.

Sunshine and Frost

What great combo for a beautiful day that felt a bit like fall. Alice and I enjoyed a nice hike and Owen and Brett played football while Clara napped.

Door to Door Christmas Sales

I do love the experience of taking the fam and picking out a Christmas tree and we will still do that but...

a middle school kid came to the door last night selling trees for his basketball team. He sold me when he saw the kids ( dressed as a princess and a puppy) and recommended the mini trees they have that kids really like. He delivered it 45 minutes later!

Thankful 2012

Oh there is so much to be thankful for. I love thanksgiving because i feel like it forces us to slow down and take time to appreciate what we have and give thanks. I am feeling blessed with family, friends, healthy and happy kids and my husband. There is a lot to be said about my dad's saying "too blessed to be stressed". Going into the holiday season, this is especially true and a good reminder for us to be thankful for it all.

We started our day with the turkey trot and thanksgiving tailgate...

1st trip to Longview

I took Alice to meet some very special people last weekend. It was also her first trip to Longview and her first plane ride!

The picture does not capture how sweet it was when Nona held Alice the first time. Nona talked with her, snuggled and gave Alice her first pony ride-it was precious! I hope Papa's pics of this special moment are better!

Alice was also lucky enough to have her 3 aunties all in the same place to meet her. When each of them held her the first time she smiled! She loves them already!

Alice also got to meet uncle Paul and uncle Eric...now she has met all her aunts and uncles:).

1 month

Happy 1 month sweet Alice Margaret! It's true when I say I can't believe she is a month old. She is eating well and sleeping like a baby. She is cooing at us and smiling and we love all her little sounds and expressions.

Candy Store

A lot of people ask me if Brett, like other dentists in town, does a candy buy back after Halloween. No, but we did do a "candy" store so the kids could swap their candy for something else.
They both really wanted a sticker book and a piece of japan candy that the Frasers sent them. At our store they paid in candy and they willingly counted and handed over 15 pieces of candy to buy their prizes.

5 candies = 1 japan candy
Great deal huh?!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was full of fun...and probably too many treats, but still fun.  Alice and I went to Owen's preschool party and we all came home to rest before the wild evening.  We did a trick-or-treat practice at Grandma and Grandpa's house and then came back to our neighborhood for a trick-or-treat party.  We hit up the neighbors with our buddies the Hubbards, and were home passing out candy by 7:30.  It was a great evening!
