Merry Christmas and Happy 2012!

I have yet to post Christmas wishes or pictures and here we are at the end of the year!  So, I hope Christmas was wonderful for all.  We certainly enjoyed the weekend with friends and family, and loved watching the excitement that the kids had through it all.  Merry Christmas!

Winter Break

Today Owen and I slept in until 8:15 and Clara until 9!

Yesterday we played in the snow, tested out new toys and visited with friends.

Clara is spending a lot of time taking good care of her babies. This baby got put in time out and got a stern talking to!

'Tis the Season

... and I do love Christmas time, the anticipation and the prep.  We are loving it even more watching Owen and Clara's excitement about it all!  We have 3 advent calendars, a "days until christmas" countdown and a sweet little construction paper chain that is getting closer and closer to the bell on top.  Owen runs to plug in the tree when we get home (if he doesn't, I do) and he is constantly asking "what number is it today?".

Last weekend the kids and I went to Carole's holiday party where they got to do crafts, have snacks and see Santa.  The next day they decorated gingerbread houses with Carole and Brynn, and today Owen's preschool class performed at a local retirement home (it also marked my first time driving for a field trip)-ADORABLE.  They sang with the residents, shared a snack with them and then played JINGO (bingo).

Owen was all business when it came to Santa.
Santa: "What's your name?"
O: "Owen" handed Santa his list
S: "Do you want to sit on my lap?"
O: "No.  I'll just stand by you.  I want a lego airplane, a car ramp and a watch."pointing to his list
S: "I'll try my best..."
O: eyeing the candy cane basket, accepted candy cane quickly and headed for the door

Zahns

Saturday evening was spent having dinner at our house with Terry & Mary Zahn. We just love them and do not see them often enough. It was so nice catching up and the kids loved their surprises and extra loves!

Griz Win!

The grizzlies won their second round playoff game... and I attended my first game of the season! It was an awesome game to see...under the lights, full moon, fireworks and a big win. We were also happy to have a new babysitter stay with the kids-thanks Emma!

Before the game we decorated cookies at the Hubbards. Look at these sweet kiddos! Mya, Lily and Owen were all making an extra cookie for their babysitters too!

Nativity

I have been dreaming of a little wooden "kid friendly" nativity set similar to the one we had growing up (you still put it out right mom?). Our nativity arrived today! I found it on etsy and so far we are loving it!

Croup

Owen's cough turned into croup last week and worsened enough to scare me on Saturday. We ended up taking him to urgent care, who then sent us to the ER. After some steroids and a helicopter pen he was a little better.

I stayed home with him yesterday and he is doing well so went to Patti's today.

Oh, and apparently the trick to getting kids to eat the crust is don't cut the sandwich!

Big Girl Bed

Clara is going on 3 weeks in her "big girl bed". She has fallen out a few times so we are going to switch to just her mattress soon. Graco-why not make the bed a little lower? Way to go Clara!

Walk & Shaving Cream

No snow and sunshine meant a great day for a walk. The Hubbards met us and the "big kids" wanted to walk so the young sibs snuggled in the stroller.

After naps the kids drew in shaving cream-a fun and cleanish favorite!
