"Yay Mommy!"

I let Owen watch a show while I showered and when I came downstairs to join him he clapped and said "yay Mommy!". I guess it is a big deal when I shower by 9am! YAY!

Longview Visit

Last weekend we visited Longview and loved every minute! Clara met Nona and Papa for the first time along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Owen had so much fun playing with everyone and exploring new places. Saturday the girls headed to Portland to wedding dress shop with Lisa-YAHOO! We had a great day together and Lis narrowed down some dress choices that she looks amazing in. Owen spent the day with the boys going to Bob's, the beach, and the baseball game. My parents were great about having people up so we could visit with everyone and people could meet Clara.

Tomorrow we are flying over for Clara to meet her Longview family (especially her Great Nona and Papa) and for the girls to go wedding dress shopping with Lisa. We can't wait! Gramby Sue made this onesie at a shower for Owen, and here are both kiddos wearing it before their first trips to Longview. I would have to say in these pics...Owen for sure looks like Brett and Clara like me-don't you think?

Where o where could my phone be?

I officially cannot find my phone...

Paul was the last one Brett and I talked to. We could hear it vibrating in one of the kids' rooms, but could not locate it. I may have been hidden by a little boy if left in his room, who knows. I pulled apart both rooms looking for it today with no luck-it may be dead now so I won't even be able to track a vibrating phone!

A Fun Saturday...

I'll start by showing this pic...

This is Thursday at dinner when Owen was still only in a diaper. We had a play date planned with Mya, but my darling little boy that is testing his mom refused to put clothes on. I gave him choices...put clothes on and go to Mya's house or don't put clothes on and we stay home-no Mya. So, we stayed home all day (it was a day that I could let this happen luckily), I got a lot of cleaning done and Owen was naked all day.
On Friday, I tried a little picture because Brett and I wanted to go for a walk with the kiddos...and Owen chose to put clothes on so that he could go for a walk and play basketball. YAY!
He continued the trend on Saturday and put on clothes so that we could go play with Syd and it was the start to a great day. We visited the Ederers' new house where we played and then fed the ducks with Syd and her mom Sarah. Syd is going to be a big sister soon and both kids happened to be wearing their big sib shirts-so cute!

After a really good nap, Owen got to try out his new helmet and loves it! I was worried that he wouldn't want to put it on, but Brett showed him that Dad has a helmet and Owen was pumped about wearing his helmet so he could ride his bike. He went for a little bike ride (he can't reach the pedals yet) and then wanted to keep his helmet on for basketball and a walk to the park.

Gracie & Jen

Gracie and Jen Gustafson were visiting Missoula this week and we love getting together with them.  We went to Jen's parents Monday to watch the NCAA final and let the kids play.  Gracie and Owen are one day apart and have a lot of fun together!  They also came over a few days later for lunch and playtime.  Great to see you girls!

Baby Bear Baby Bear What do you see?

Owen is really into the Brown Bear books...Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Panda Bear Panda Bear and now Baby Bear Baby Bear that the easter bunny brought. He is pretty good at reading all the animals and has definitely picked up on the repetitive pattern of the books and uses it throughout his day.

"Quesadilla, quesadilla, what do you see?"

What a funny boy!

Ear Infections...again

Owen has woken up the past few nights crying...one sign that he has an ear infection. Another is drainage from the ears (the doc told me if the tubes are in place, it will look like a runny/crusty nose, but out his ears-gross) which he had Monday morning. So, this is frustrating because we were hoping that stainless steel tubes+removing adenoids would do away with infections. The good news is that we don't need to go to the ENT for a look. I just called and told them that he has an infection and the doc called in a prescription. Owen really hates his ear drops that he has to have put in twice a day, and we don't like having to pin him down screaming to put them in...ear infections, please go away soon.

We got a new camera the day before Clara was born (good timing huh?) and I just uploaded the pics from the oldie.

Clara was born on cousin Brynn's birthday and since we were not going to be able to celebrate with Brynn this year, she invited us to her friend party at Curents Aquatic Center. I had no business getting in a suit, so Brett and Owen jumped in the water with the girls. Thanks Brynn!

Happy Easter

Easter morn started with a jelly bean trail from Owen's room to his basket, followed by church, Ron and Carole's for brunch and an egg hunt, and long naps in the afternoon.

Clara was 1 month old on Thursday...where did the month go? She is a darling, and a pretty good sleeper too! We love her and look forward to seeing her grow!

Addy & Teresa visit MT!

We were so happy to have Addy and Teresa visit for a few days this week. Owen loved having a live in playmate! The weather was decent so we were able to hit up some parks and go on some good walks with our friends. We also went to the carousel (Addy rode...not Owen) and the children's museum, watched some Wiggles and Backyardigans, and practiced sharing.
